First Step Towards a Miracle- Saskia’s Journey Continues

AN URGENT APPEAL TO SAVE THIS LITTLE GIRL’S LIFE

Thanks to you, Saskia has taken her first steps towards a miracle. Let’s not stop now.

For the past few weeks, we have been sharing the journey of little Saskia, a five year old Haitian girl who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. The outpouring of love and support for this little girl has been amazing and the generosity of our donors has really made a difference in the first steps of her journey.

With your donations, our amazing team on the ground arranged for Saskia and her father to fly to Port au Prince where Neurosurgeon Dr. Yudy LaFortune at Hospital Bernard Mevs placed a shunt to relieve the pressure in her brain and give her an immediate chance of survival.  After the surgery, she is free of seizures and headaches and is speaking her first words in months. Our whole Hands Up for Haiti team is now working fervently to get her to the University of Miami for surgery to remove the tumor and cure Saskia for good.

THIS IS WHERE YOUR HELP IS CRUCIAL.

As you can imagine, this mission is both complicated and expensive. We are asking you, our generous donors, to help Saskia fight for her life. We urgently need to raise $40,000 for Saskia’s treatment in the United States.

Please donate today to our Emergency Appeal to: SAVE SASKIA.

Dr. Ingrid and Dr. Johane return to Labadee to visit Saskia and her family after her first surgery.
